Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
My first intierview was with IIM A. They started with questions about where my college is located and who is the chairman. Then they asked me to name famous people who share surname with me. I gave them a detailed answer with all facts and figures dates and full names. In PIs i have noticed, the panel wants to know whether the student knows about himself/herself and about his her family and other related things like meaning of name/surname. Then we started discussing about how MBA is important in day to day life. How can success be measure. It was a conversation. Try to make your PI a conversation. Do not get cnfused that PI is a Q and A session or an interrogation of a criminal. You can give your PI a flow. Your next question will definetly come from what answer you gave to your previous question and first question will come from either you CV or your family(things surrounding it like name/surname etc).
Then they asked me about my hobbies(watching greatest movies and gardening ). Asked me which is the greatest movie in history. I said Shawshank Redemtion. THey asked me its story and release date. I told them the correct answer. TI was asked how a banana plant comes up from soil. I answered their question. At the end I was told that it was nice talking to me and they enjoyed it. I felt elated and was 90% sure that I cracked IIM A PI.
IIM C interview started with why I want to do MBA from IIMs nly and not other colleges or US. I gave them an answer I was prepared with. Prepare your answer to such questions. Do not by-heart them just be natural and do not copy either. Then he went on to ask about movies and we were talking about different types of movies.
IIM L was a stress PI,as you know IIM L is famous for stress PIs. They were asking me such questions like where was Buddha from? Why is stupa famous? I gave them answers.
IIM K interview was like IIM A and C (ie. cool :) ). Here they asked me where is Anna Hazare from and what is so special about his village. How much time it takes from Mumbai to Anna Hazare's house.
Only IIM L had GD and it went well. Just make sure that you enter a GD 4 5 times with good points which are not introduced before and that you are giving the discussion a flow.
In the end I was happy that I cracked all the IIM PIs.
